Flinglings VR by Frogbolt Studio · Last updated November 4, 2026
This privacy policy explains what information Frogbolt Studio ("we", "us") collects when you play Flinglings VR (the "Game") on Meta Quest, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted. If you have any questions, contact us at contact@frogboltstudio.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
Player name: the name you type in the Game. Other players can see it. Names don't have to be unique, so please don't use your real full name.
Avatar choices: your astronaut's colour and the cosmetic items you wear or hold.
Room codes: codes you type to join a private room with friends.
Information collected automatically
Device identifier: a technical ID of your headset. We use it to create your game account and sign you in automatically, so you don't need an email address or password.
Game account ID: a random player ID created by our game server provider (PlayFab).
Game progress: your Star Shards balance (in-game currency, earned in the Game; it can't be bought with real money), the items you own, and the date you last opened the daily reward chest.
Online play data: while you are in an online room, we send your head and hand movements, finger poses, avatar look, player name and player ID to the other players in that room so they can see you.
Technical data: your IP address, approximate region (used to connect you to the nearest server), device model, operating system, and basic performance and crash information.
Voice chat and microphone
If you allow microphone access, your voice is sent live to the other players in your online room so they can hear you.
We do not record or store voice chat. It passes through our voice server provider (Photon) in real time only.
You can mute your microphone and mute other players in the Game's settings at any time. If you don't allow microphone access, you can still play; others just won't hear you.
Information stored only on your headset
Your settings (volume, music, snap turn, comfort vignette), best scores, and whether you have finished the tutorial are saved only on your device and are not sent to us.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your email address, real name, phone number, exact location, contacts, photos, payment details or your Meta account information. The Game has no advertising and no ad tracking.
2. How we use your information
We use it only to:
create your game account and sign you in,
save your progress, Star Shards and items,
let you play online with other players (matchmaking, showing your avatar and name, and voice chat),
give you the daily reward and let staff send in-game gifts,
keep the Game working, fix bugs and improve performance,
keep the Game safe: for example, to investigate reports of cheating or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run the Game. They only process your data to provide their service to us:
Provider

Meta Platforms
Distributes the Game through the Meta Horizon Store
Covered by Meta's own privacy policy
Other players in your online room can see your player name, avatar and movements, and hear your voice.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players.
These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own privacy and security safeguards.
4. How long we keep it
Game account data (player ID, name, progress, items): kept as long as you play. If an account has not been used for 24 months, or you ask us to delete it, we delete it.
Online play and voice data: not stored. It exists only while you are in a room.
Technical logs kept by our providers: deleted automatically under their retention periods, usually within 90 days.
5. Your choices and rights
Delete your data: email contact@frogboltstudio.com with the subject "Delete my Flinglings VR data". Include your Player ID, which you can find in the Game: Lobby → Computer → ID tab. We will delete your account and all saved data within 30 days and confirm by email.
Access or correct your data: contact us at the same address.
Microphone: you can turn off microphone access at any time in your Quest settings, or mute yourself in the Game.
Uninstalling the Game removes all data stored on your headset.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have extra rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your local data protection authority. We will respect those rights.
6. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Meta requires Meta Quest account holders to meet its own age rules, and younger users must use a parent-managed account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has given us personal information, contact contact@frogboltstudio.com and we will delete it.
Because online play includes voice chat with other players, parents can turn off microphone access or online features using Meta's parental controls.
7. Security
We use trusted providers that encrypt data in transit and protect their servers. Only our team can access the game admin tools. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and post the new version on this page. For big changes, we will also tell you in the Game.
